Rs 2.8 crore for renovation of heritage buildings

The University of Mysore has decided to set aside Rs 2.8 crore for renovation of heritage buildings located on its campus. 

The funds have been earmarked in the 2012-13 budget. The UoM has also allocated Rs 3 crore for construction of a hostel for research scholars.

Waste water disposal

Waste water disposal plant and replacement of old pipes has been given Rs 1 crore and rainwater harvesting receives Rs 50 lakh.

Public administration

The issue of considering graduates having master’s degree in public administration for teaching posts in political science continued to be debated at the academic council meeting. 

While the opinions continued to be varied, the council finally decided that for the present and previous two batches, who are pursuing MA in public administration, should undergo one year additional course with eight papers in four core political science subjects.
