Plaint against BJP MLA referred to Lokayukta police

The Special Lokayukta Court on Thursday referred a private complaint against BJP MLA of Rajarajeshwarinagar M Srinivas to the City wing of the  Lokayukta police.

The complaint filed by Dinesh Kallahalli accuses the MLA of amassing wealth disproportionate to his income. The Lokayukta police are expected to submit a report on May 2. He is accused of amassing wealth in excess of Rs 300 crore.

In his complaint, Dinesh has stated that the MLA has been holding public position since 1983, after he became MLA of Uttarahalli from the Janata Party. In 1998, he was elected as an MP. Then, he had declared his assets. In 2007, Srinivas again declared his assets to the Lokayukta stating that they were worth Rs 19 crore.

The complainant has alleged that there is a  Rs 300-crore difference between the declared amount and his actual assets.
