<p>Two persons brutually assaulted V Ashwatha Reddy allegedly for damaging the concrete road driving his tractor at Hosahudya village on Saturday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Reddy was attacked by Venkatesh and Somashekhar of the same village. Venkatesh is the son of Krishnappa, a gram panchayat member. <br /><br />It is said that the concrete road was recently laid by Krishnappa in the village. But the road was slightly damaged when Reddy drove on the road with his tractor. <br /><br />This apparently irked Venkatesh and Somashekhar who assaulted Reddy with iron rods and stones and the latter has been admitted at the hospital with severe head injuries. <br />Somashekhar and Venkatesh have been arrested in this regard said Pathapalya police station sub-inspector Sadik Bhasha. <br /><br />The incident could have turned ugly had the police not reached the spot on time. But the police had to bear the people’s wrath, who pelted stones on them. <br />Later, the situation was brought under control. <br /></p>
