The chief judicial magistrate of a court in Koderma district intervened to see there was a happy ending to the episode after Arman Ali was incarcerated on the charge of outraging the modesty of Rufi Razak from Bihar’s Nawada district.
The nikah ceremony was performed inside the jail premises on Monday at 12 noon followed by a traditional bhoj after the judge said the boy would be granted bail only if he exchanged the nuptial vows with the girl.
Arman, 23, eloped with 19-year-old Rufi of Rizzat about a month ago and fled to Delhi where they stayed together in a hotel for 10 days. But Arman’s parents, however, did not accept the girl.
