Following this, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa decided to continue him in the cabinet till the court “takes the final decision.”

The case is scheduled to come up for hearing next week.

Within two hours after the high court pronounced its interim verdict, Yeddyurappa told reporters:  “He (Sudhakar) will continue in the cabinet. The question of his resigning does not arise. He will continue till the court issues the final decision.”

In the high court, Justice Subhash K Adi stayed the proceedings for a week after hearing a petition by the minister challenging the chargesheet filed by the CBI against him.

A decision on retaining Sudhakar in the cabinet comes on the eve of the special session of the legislature.

Unilateral decision

However, the decision has not gone well with many BJP and RSS leaders. They feel that the chief minister has taken a unilateral decision giving an opportunity to the Opposition to nail the government.
