8 arrested for robbing petrol pump employees

Eight people were arrested for robbing two employees of a petrol pump at gunpoint in Alipur of outer Delhi, police said.

“They had robbed Rs 14 lakh from the two employess on April 7 when they were on their way to deposit the amount at a Corporation Bank branch in Alipur,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police B S Jaiswal.

Police have recovered Rs 9 lakh of the looted money apart from a country-made pistol from the accused.

The accused have been identified as Ravi, 20, Shish Ram, 26, Mohit, 19, Dinu Ram, 25, Mukesh, 22, Amit, 24, Lalit, 26 and Sumer, 24.

“Ravi, Shish Ram, Mohit, Dinu Ram and Mukesh were arrested from Narela on Wednesday night. Rs 6.40 lakh and a motorcycle involved in the commission of crime was recovered from their possession,” Jaiswal said.

On interrogation, they disclosed the involvement of Amit, Lalit and Sumer, who were arrested later from Sonepat in Haryana on Thursday and Rs 2.90 lakh and two bikes involved in the crime were seized from them.
