Karnataka’s Adil Kalyanpur and Dhwani Kumar made it a golden double each, claiming the U-14 boys’ and girls’ singles and doubles titles respectively in the Mallige AITA Talent Series tennis tournament at the Tennis Forever Academy courts in Yelahanka on Friday.
Adil overwhelmed SS Harshith of Andhra Pradesh 6-3, 6-4 in the singles final and later in the company of V Abhimanyu edged past K Tharun and SK Priyan 8-7 (5) in the doubles summit clash. Dhwani, on the other hand, had to struggle a bit for her 7-5, 6-3 win over Tamil Nadu’s PK Lathika in the girls’ singles title decider. She then partnered RS Rachana to beat Muskan Ranjan and Tanvi Bhat 8-5 in the doubles final.
Rithvik Choudhry of Andhra Pradesh clinched the U-12 boys singles title defeating State-mate Rohan Reddy 6-2, 6-2 while Tanvi Bhat of Kerala was crowned the girls champion after she beat Rachana 6-4, 6-2.
