Of comedy and twists

Another film unit revealed its source of inspiration. The Celina Jaitley-Upendra-Priyanka starrer Srimathi is inspired by, hold it, not Aitraaz. It is the Demi Moore-Michael Douglas starrer Disclosure.

Hmmm. Nice to know Hollywood is getting its due this way. At  Jade Gardens, the Uppi family was in a relaxed mood, Mrs Uppi was hesitant to oblige the press. All she would admit was that she was not a ‘strict’ wife, both in real and reel life. Any surprises here? It was left to husband dear to bring the conversation back on track.

“This film has a family subject like Kutumba and Gowramma... the first half will have plenty of comedy and twists in the second half,” Uppi summed up. Of course, he was tight-lipped about his next directorial venture. The film is being shot with the Super 35 camera, said director Sampath, who has brought in Prem Chopra, Sayyaji Shinde and Kota Srinivasa Rao.
Srimathi also sees cinematographer Johnny Lal behind the camera after 11 years.

Actress Celina Jaitley who changed her costume before talking to the press, parroted the usual line of how the role was a challenging one. Incidentally, Celina was approached first for Aitraaz which then went to Priyanka Chopra.

Srimathi, however, is Celina’s first South Indian film. The film has music by Pentyala Krishna. Producer Shankaregowda plans to release the film in October.
