<p>Speaking after offering floral tributes to Desai, poet and columnist H Dundiraj said Dinakar Desai, popularly known as Chutuku Brahma, was not just a limericks’ poet but an all rounder. <br /><br />“From education to journalism to politics, he worked in various fields. He wrote over 3,000 limericks and hundreds of poems and children’s poems. He contributed a lot to the society through Canara Welfare Trust and educational institutions,” Dundiraj said. “Desai worked for labour unions in his younger days. He started a periodical called Janasevaka. He even tested his fortunes in politics and entered Parliament from Praja Socialist Party,” he added.<br /><br />Kannada Sahitya Parishat former head Harikrishna Punaroor presided. Taluk Chutuku Sahitya Parishat President Mahesh R Nayak was present. Hani Sanje, a poets’ meet was held later.<br /></p>
