For some crunchy snacks

Sri Ganesh Darshan Veg Fast Food’, a small eatery in Sanjay Nagar, has carved a niche for itself among nearby residents. It serves South Indian, North Indian and Chinese food items along with chaats and juices like any other hotel — but the taste of the food and the ambience of the joint make the difference.

Started by Raghavendra Bhat and Sujan Shetty, who hail from Udupi and Kundapur respectively, the eatery has gained a strong base of customers within a short span of time. “We started this fast food joint as a means to serve customers with good quality, hygienic and tasty food. Customers can savour dishes of their choice as we have a vast menu. Keeping the middle-class in mind, we have made sure the prices are reasonable,” says Sujan Shetty.

Idli, vada, puri, upma, all varieties of dosas and rice items and meals are served in the South Indian category. The North Indian food includes the North Indian meal, roti, naan, paratha, stuffed paratha, kulcha, channa batura and a variety of curries.

Vegetable noodles, Schezwan noodles, American chopsuey, mushroom chilly, paneer tikka and baby corn manchurian are a few names in the Chinese section of the menu. As summer is here, fresh fruit juices are in great demand and are available in many varieties.

“South Indian food items like idli, vada, rice bath, puri and all varieties of dosas are always in demand,” informs Guru, who looks after the eatery. Though the food junction offers little space to sit, it is crowded with customers of all age groups. There are some customers who opt for home delivery too.

“I keep eating the food here. One thing  that’s noticeable here, unlike other eateries, is that the staff members are very friendly. They cater to the needs of their customers immediately. They serve the food hot and fresh. They have given utmost importance to cleanliness, which makes me visit this place time and again,” informs Somashekhar, an insurance agent and a regular customer.

“When we think of having food outside, the first name which comes to our mind is ‘Ganesh Darshan’. It is very suitable for morning breakfasts, chaats and some crunchy stuff in the evening. I prefer sev puri, onion pakoda and juice here,” adds his wife, Kala.
‘Ganesh Darshan’ has around ten branches and each one is doing a good business. They undertake outdoor catering too. The eatery is open on all days. It is located at Geddalahalli, Sanjay Nagar Main Road. For details, call 9379944295.
