The deceased Santhosh (25) and Ravi Kiran (17) were members of the Vinayaka Volleyball team. After an afternoon match at the Gandhi stadium, the team headed to the river to take a bath. But the river was filled with slush after the heavy rains last week and three members began to drown.
The driver of the team vehicle noticed this and jumped into the river. However, he managed to save only one person, Murali, among the three.
A case has been registered at the Ripponpet police station.
