13-yr-old girl gang raped for revenge

Two accused also tried to kill her

A thirteen-year-old girl, a resident of Pasikhera village in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district, was allegedly gang raped by two youths on Friday.  

The girl had gone to an orchard to pluck some mangoes when four youths caught hold of her and took her to a secluded spot. 

While two youths identified as Vijay Pal and Gyan Singh allegedly raped her, Rajjan and Ram Singh allegedly tried to kill her by strangling her.

Later, they left her there in a semi-conscious state thinking her to be dead. The villagers found the girl in the unconscious condition.

She was rushed to a government health centre. Then she was referred to Kanpur. On gaining consciousness, she narrated the entire matter to the police. 

FIR registered

Police have registered an FIR with naming the four accused persons. A medical examination of the minor would be conducted, police said.

Police suspect the accused had raped her to take revenge from her father, who was a key accused in the murder of Rajjan and Vijay Pal’s brother Shiv Singh. 

Her father and some others had allegedly killed Shiv Singh three years ago following a minor dispute, police said. The girl’s father was released from the jail only a couple of days ago.

“It appears to be an act of revenge. A case of rape has been registered against Gyan Singh and Vijay Pal, and a case of attempt to murder has been registered against Rajjan and Ram Singh. All the accused are absconding,” Kotwali inspector R P Yadav said.
