Producing salt supplied to the schools for bisi uta, which was found to be mixed with  sand like substance, at DC office on Tuesday, Gurushanthappa questioned the impact of the adulterated salt on the physical and mental growth of the children.

He said that 500 gm pack of salt with seal bearing declarations like ‘RSR salt’, ‘fortified iodised salt’  had 50 gms of sand in it. He  added that salt is an  important factor needed for mental development of the children but this kind of adulterated salt will only harm the children who consume it.

He demanded the district administration to take action against the producers of the salt and said that this salt must be sent back to the company.
