Last Updated 15 September 2009, 19:16 IST

K V P Ramachandra Rao, a YSR confidant and adviser to the state government, has briefed several ministers supporting Jagan’s candidacy for chief minister's position, on the party's latest line of thinking. Rao had just returned from consultations with the party's top leadership in Delhi.

Whilst bolstering their hopes, Rao also warned against their tactics of skipping crucial cabinet meetings, as the high command is wary of any signs of indiscipline and dissent amongst its state unit.

State Health Minister Danam Nagender, who went on record saying that Jagan loyalists will sacrifice anything to see him as chief minister, said the ministers will abide by the party's decision. He said the high command will reveal its decision when the state legislature party meets to choose its new leader.

Small Scale Industries Minister D K Aruna hoped that the party will keep the sentiments of people and their representatives in mind. KVP Ramachandra Rao, also a Rajya Sabha member, is camping in New Delhi for the last few days to lobby for Jagan as chief minister. He informed the ministers the about outcome of his talks with Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Pranab Mukherjee and party general secretary M Veerappa Moily.
