Third Front woos voters, promises Ambedkar statue in Arabian Sea

Already, the Congress-NCP combine and the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance are promising to construct a mighty statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji in the sea opposite Marine Drive in south Mumbai, which will be bigger that the US Statue of Liberty.

The Third Front, called Republican Left Democratic Front (RDLF), which comprises mainly Republican Party of India and its factions, both Communist parties, Janata Dal (secular) and the Peasants’ and Workers’ Party, also promised to regularise all slums that have come up in Mumbai till 2009.

The RLDF had organised a public rally at Shivaji Park recently, which received massive response from party workers of constituents. The front also promised to implement recommendations of the Sachar report on Muslims and Srikrishna commission’s report on 1992-93 Mumbai riots. It promised 450 sq ft houses to the needy, compulsory education and almost everything to everybody, like reservations to economically weaker sections among the forward castes, to woo voters.
