Misfiring Aircraftmen ride on Satish winner

Satish Kumar’s goal helped Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Club (HASC) register a 1-0 victory over Controllerate of Inspection and Electronics (CIL) in their BDFA Super Division game at the Bangalore Football stadium on Tuesday.

Satish struck for HASC in the 71st minute of the match that could have been a high-scoring one but for the wasted chances by both teams.

CIL started in attacking fashion with Pratheep’s shot off a Manoj pass going wide in the ninth minute. RC Prakash was then unable to capitalise on a Vinod Kumar cross in the 11th minute much to the frustration of HASC fans. HASC were woeful when it came to finishing and struggled to fix the problem throughout the match.

Vinod Kumar  was in rollicking form for HASC, troubling defenders with his pace and guile and had a few shots at target. CIL brought in Enian for Krishna Kumar in the 35th minute.
In the 45th minute, HASC came agonizingly close to scoring when Ajit Kumar Singh’s shot brushed past the top of the goalpost as teams took the break.

Just before play was to start in the second half, HASC custodian Amar Deb was shown a yellow card by referee Elangovan for using what appeared to be a foul language in an apparent attempt to get things started quickly.

In the 52nd minute, HASC disappointed their fans further when Jagadish’s penalty was saved by CIL custodian N Venkatesh after Vinod had handled the ball inside the box.
Satish Kumar flawlessly slotted home the winning goal for HASC in the 71st minute off a Jagadish pass to bring some cheer in the stands. HASC’s Karthigeyan suffered an injury in the 72nd minute after his head collided with Manoj’s of CIL, and was given medical attention outside the line.

Other result: ‘A’ Division: DYSS: 4 (Harish 38th, 49th, M Bandari 70th, Sunil 80th) bt RBI: 2 (Jayaseelan 53rd, Santosh 60th).
