The High Court on Wednesday ordered notice to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with a petition by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and his son B Y Raghavendra challenging the FIR filed against them.

When the matter came up for hearing before Justice Subhash B Adi, he said the matter had been listed. When counsel for petitioner Prabhulinga Navadgi said that he had mentioned about it on Wednesday, the court said the matter would be taken up on Friday and ordered notice to CBI.

In a fresh petition before the High Court, Yeddyurappa said that he was entitled for bail and said the private complaint-2 and the FIR filed by CBI are the same. He said that he and Raghavendra being in public life (one is a former chief minister and another, a member of Parliament) will not flee from justice and will co-operate with the investigation.

The petitioners said they had been co-operating with the investigation earlier too and would continue to do so. They will furnish any information the investigating agency requires. The CBI court had rejected their advance bail pleas on Wednesday and said the duo could influence the investigation if given bail.
