'Atambaat' prog held

Kodava Sahitya Academy president Addanda Kariappa urged the government to include Kodava language in the list of Dravidian languages.

Speaking at ‘Aatmbaat’ programme organised by Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy and Iri Samaja Kodagu, at Virajpet on Sunday, he said: “Kodava language has rich culture. The academy will work towards conservation of Kodava language, art and culture. Textbooks highlighting Kodava culture should be introduced.”

Folk artiste Puggera Ayyappa inaugurated the programme. Kodagu Iri Samaja president Thattanda Poonaccha, Bolakat artiste Kaameyanda Ganesh, Virajpet taluk APMC president Patrapanda Raghu Nanaiah and others were present.
