Vijaya Bank extends smart card project

 
This is towards furthering greater IT enabled Financial Inclusion. The second leg of launching the Card was inaugurated by the Bank’s CMD, Albert Tauro, at Mansur village, Dharwad. The Smart Card, enabled with biometric device, facilitates services like cash deposit/withdrawal, remittance of loan instalments, remittance of recurring deposits.

Vijaya Bank has also announced reduced interest rates for fresh housing and vehicle loans. Now, housing loans up to Rs 30 lakh will attract interest of 8 pc in first year, 9.25 pc in next two years and 9.50 pc for the fourth and fifth years and thereafter a minimum of 10 pc. For vehicle loans, interest is 8.50 pc for the first year, 10 pcfor the next four years and 10.5 pc thereafter.
