Beginning September 18, CAT applicants will be allowed to edit personal and application data and thus, avoid procuring another voucher.

As the sale of CAT 2009 vouchers commenced from September 9, IIM aspirants filled in the online applications without carefully reading the instructions. Sugreev Paresh, a BE graduate, said that he had filled in the online application in haste on the first day the vouchers were made available. "I had filled in the name of the State wrong. On completion of the application I had made five mistakes and was appalled that I could not correct any of them," Sugreev said. However, with the announcement that the applicants can now edit the personal information, Sugreev is relieved that he will not have to purchase another CAT voucher.

Sarika Prakash, a final year BBM student also admitted, “As I filled the online CAT application, there were many mistakes  which could not be rectified immediately. I had to contact my tutors and had posted a query to help me out with corrections.” The fee for second voucher too will be reimbursed, said Sarika.

Prof Satish Deodhar of IIM-Ahmedabad and Convener, CAT 2009 said that as students have filled in the applications in apprehension due to computer-based CAT this year, the mistakes were expected.

Rescheduled

From the evening of  September 18, candidates can log on to https://iim.prometric.com/ to reschedule their CAT date, update their Candidate Profile including personal details (eg. address), application data(eg. educational information) and interview location. Candidates may also request for their CAT 2009 Admit Card to be re-sent.

Candidates who have made an error will be able to access this facility till October 8 to make any amendments to their Candidate Profile. Rescheduling of dates, however, will end on October 1. According to the CAT website, for security reasons, editing candidate's full name and user ID will not be allowed.
