About 65-70 loads of sand worth Rs four lakh to five lakh was seized in a joint operation conducted by revenue, public welfare and police departments on Saturday in Hunsur.
About 30-35 loads was seized from four places behind Cambridge School at Gokul Layout while 30 loads of illegally stored sand was seized from a farmland at old Hunsur.Assistant executive engineer of public welfare department Vasudev said the sand seized would be transferred to sand selling units.
Circle inspector Gajendra Prasad, officials Venkatesh, Ramesh, Manjunath and Venkatesh Babu were present during the raid.
