Sandalwood actress Haripriya is as busy as a bee. She’s starred in many Southern films and is grateful for the platter of diverse roles that has been offered to her.

The actress admits that she is relieved now that she has had hits in all four Southern languages in recent years — and that she has several projects in her kitty even now.

Apart from the movie Sagar, which is expected to release by the end of July, the actress is working with Prajwal in Super Shashtri, which is directed by Raviraj and produced by G Ramachandra.

She is also working with actor Murli in Nande, which is directed by Prashanth Raj and the movie Manjina Hani, with Crazy Star Ravichandran.

“I play the love interest of Prajwal in Super Shashtri,” she explains, adding, “it’s a complete entertainment with a great sense of humour.”

In Nande, she plays an NRI from Australia. “Nande is a movie which has the perfect combination of romance and action,” she explains.

She feels that her career is progressing in the right direction, saying, “I’m currently working in four languages. I love what I’m doing. But in Kannada, I’m still waiting for a good script to come my way.”

While choosing her scripts, Haripriya takes into consideration both her character as well as the team she would be working with. She says, “I’m very choosy with my scripts. If the team I’m working with is not good, then the film will not be able to do justice to my character.”

Ask her if there’s any particular actor she’s dying to work with, and she replies, “If we consider the commercial aspect, it is always good to work with established actors, who will eventually add to my calibre and career.”

She’s also acted in several remakes and terms them as difficult projects. “It’s very tough work because people expect more from the actor, as the audiences tend to compare the movies. It’s a challenging job,” she admits.

As her work forces her to travel frequently, she says that Bangalore is her favourite holiday destination. When at home, she spends her time painting, horse riding, playing badminton or swimming.

Haripriya believes in creating her own style and fashion mantra. “Be natural, wear whatever fits your body and most importantly, be comfortable in what you are wearing,” she insists, adding that it’s a bad idea to imitate others.

Surprisingly, the actress is also quite a foodie. “I love spicy South Indian food. I also love gulab jamun and rasmalai. Actually it’s hard to mention a few of my favourite dishes,” she wraps up.
