Hewlett Packard (HP), the US-based IT services company has expanded its India operations to cope with the rise in the demand of Application Services Management (ASM) which is a discipline that monitors and manages performance of business transactions.

Recently, the company’s new facility in K R Puram, Bangalore - spread over 344,000 square feet - was commissioned to increase the capacity of the Application Services Global Delivery hub in India and will offer Application Services to clients across the globe.

“For the past few years CIOs who come to us, want solutions that will give them better value for every dollar spent,” said HP India Director Application Services Global Delivery, Sumanth Tarigopula.

He added that HP is now restructuring its portfolio and this new facility will, at present ,deliver solutions in healthcare, transportation, communication and BFSI.

“Gone are the days when CIOs could get a $100 billion chequebook and thus they now seek value for money and also the best real-time analytics to scale-up their business,” he said. The company said that it was focused on building out strategic practice areas, in cloud, security, information management, and application transformation and also strengthening the industry alignment of its Services business, which will help them better solve customer challenges and create more customer value.

For HP, Services delivered revenue of $8.8 billion, declining 1 per cent YoY with operating profit declining to 11.3 per cent.

“Cloud, now cannot be seen in segregation. It has to combine mobility and content-aware experiences where a client can not only track real-time details of his business, but can also get it wherever and on whichever device he wants,” said Tarigopula.
