<p>Heavy rain that lashed the district on Monday, inundated many classrooms of the Government Higher Primary School in Gulpet, Kolar causing great inconvenience to teachers and students. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Following a work on Raja Kaluve on Tipu Road, rainwater entered the school, located on the Gulpet main road, thanks to uncleaned drains near the school. <br /><br />Councillors’ apathy<br /><br />“In spite of repeated pleas to councillors Rauth Shankarappa, Jyoti and even nominated member Rathnamma, nothing has been done to clean the drains,” complained school head T S Vanajakshi. <br /><br />A total of 140 students study from I standard to VII standard here and for the last six years, the students have been braving the rainwater in their classrooms, she added. <br /><br />Even motorists were finding it difficult to move as M B Road, near Clock Tower and Gulpet main road were inundated with rainwater.</p>
