<p>A minor fire broke out at Vikas Sadan near south Delhi’s INA market on Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported. <br /><br /></p>.<p>A short-circuit in an air conditioner was suspected to be the reason behind the blaze.<br /><br />Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officials said they had received a call after thick plume of smoke was reported from the first floor of the building which houses Delhi Development Authority (DDA) headquarters at around 9.10 am. <br /><br />“Three fire tenders were initially sent to the spot. But as the situation could not be brought under control as expected, six more vehicles were dispatched,” an official said.<br /><br />After one-and-a-half-hour the fire was finally doused. Officials claimed very few people had to be evacuated due to the timing and nature of the incident.<br /><br />The actual cause of the blaze can only be ascertained after the DFS and local police complete their investigations.<br /><br />Employees at Vikas Sadan believe that several important documents might have been gutted in the fire.<br /></p>
