Pawan wins RCB contest

BNMIT student will fly to Eng to watch T20 WC tie

Pawan, who received the winner’s ticket from Royal Challengers Bangalore players Sunil Joshi, J Arun Kumar and Tinu Yohannan, will fly to England this June to watch a game during the ICC Twenty20 World Cup.In all, 80 participants matched their skills in various competitive events including batting, bowling and fielding. Nine of them were shortlisted for the final two rounds -- commentary and quiz.

Pawan, a final year engineering student (Information Science) at BNMIT, won the contest with 114 points, while Khafil finished runner-up, five points behind.  Pawan said he himself felt like a celebrity. “I am shocked as well as thrilled to have won this award,” he observed.

“My love for cricket will only continue to grow.”

Similar competitions will be held in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad, with a winner from each city joining the Bangalorean on the flight to London.
