Attack on youth was heinous act, alleges JD(S)

The District JD(S) unit strongly condemned the attack on youth by the Hindu Jagarana Vedike and demanded stern action against the accused.

Speaking to media persons, JD(S) District President Deviprasad Shetty alleged that these activists had not raised their voice against the infamous rave party held at St Mary’s island.

The rave party was an embarrassment to the culture and tradition of the country. Why should the moral police take law into their hands, he asked. 

He said there are many pubs and hookah bars in Manipal allowing students to have fun and entertainment. Why Hindu organisations are blind towards all these activities that are taking place under the protection of the leaders of Hindu organisations. He said the incident in Mangalore was a heinous act that these activists were also involved in molesting the girls. 

Shetty demanded that the police and intelligence should keep a vigil in coastal district as an attempt is being made to destroy harmony in the region.  If the government fails to initiate action against the accused, then the JD(S) will carry out series of protest in the coming days.
