KB Pawan’s double century was the highlight of the day when dull draws were the order of the day in the Safi Darashah all-India invitational tournament here on Monday.

The right-handed opener, overnight 125, went on to compile a double as KSCA XI managed to draw their four-day encounter against KSCA Colts at the BGS ground. Resuming at their bed-time score of 262/2 after being forced to follow on, KSCA XI declared their innings closed at 503/4 in 113.5 overs, leaving no scope for an outright result.

While Pawan consumed 341 balls (25x4, 2x6) for his epic knock, Amit Verma struck 138 (184b, 14x4, 2x6) as KSCA XI made some amends for their first innings debacle that saw them fold up for 190 in reply to Colts’ 406. Colts were 100 for one in 28 overs in their second innings when play was called off. Colts earned three points for their first innings lead while KSCA XI had to settle for a solitary point.

At Alur grounds, the match between Baroda Cricket Association and Bangladesh XI ended in a draw with the latter collecting three points by virtue of their first innings lead.

In Mysore, Rajasthan Cricket Academy, who took innings honours against Hyderabad Cricket Association, pocketed three vital points.
