E-mail threat to CM's office triggers tension

The letter threatened to explode 15 chemical bombs in the City

The e-mail sent by anonymous person, addressed to the Chief Minister, Home Minister and the Bangalore City Police Commissioner, was received at around 10.11 am.

The sender claimed that he planned to carry out explosions within 40 kilometre radius of the City and challenged the police to prevent the same if capable within three hours. His next target, according to the email, was Mysore followed by Mangalore which would be a Dasara gift for Karnataka.

The same mail was also received at the office of the Director General and Inspector General of Police.  Shankar Bidari, City Police Commissioner said the police were investigating the origin of the mail and other details.  However, sources said that the mail originated from Maharashtra.
