KRV stages stir demanding road repair

The protest was led by Vedike District President K T Puttaraj. They took out a padayathra from Kudige road to Someshwara temple and later staged a Rastha Roko near Government hospital. The road which provides connectivity between Kodagu and North Karnataka has been spoilt completely. Though the road got damaged some years ago, Government has failed to repair it.

Protesters said that if the administration fails to repair the roads within a week, then Vedike will stage intense protest in future.

Later, a memorandum was submitted to District Administration through Deputy Tahshildar P S Mahesh.

Hobli unit Secretary Govindaraj Das, Leaders Basheer, Nethravathi, P D Chandru, Kumar, Purushotham and others were present.

Police security was beefed up. The potholes on the roads must be filled immediately so as to keep motorable and repair works must be taken up after rains subside, they demanded.
