12 killed in separate accidents

As many as 12 persons were killed in three different accidents in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana on Saturday.

Six persons died after their car rammed into a tree on Rangdi Road here, police said on Saturday.

The mishap occurred when the car, on its way from Sirsa to Nohar in Rajasthan, hit the tree last night, killing three persons on the spot, they said.

Three others succumbed to their injuries later. The deceased were identified as Sandeep, Tarun, Subhash, Amit, Suresh and Jabbar, all residents of Nohar in Rajasthan.

In another accident reported from Firozabad, two persons were killed and another injured when two trucks collided on national highway in Tundla, police said.

Ashok Kumar Gupta, 45, and Manish, 23, died on the spot, while Dhruv Kumar was seriously injured in the incident. Police have sent the bodies for a postmortem.

Four persons were killed and six others were injured when a commercial vehicle overturned in Khaga area near Fatehpur, police said.

The incident took place when the driver lost control over the vehicle and turned turtle, during which two of them died on the spot, they said. The injured were taken to hospital where two of them died in treatment.
