Karnataka Bhavan staffer injured in scuffle

An employee of the Karnataka Bhavan here sustained serious head injury on Wednesday during a scuffle with a colleague following an argument over office work.

According to the police, Ananth, a steward at the Karnataka Bhavan II on S P Marg, questioned kitchen assistant Manjunath Kallimani after he arrived late for work. A heated argument ensued, following which Manjunath threw chilli power at Ananth and hit him with a rod.

Ananth was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital with severe head injury. He was operated upon on Thursday evening and is out of danger, sources sauid. The Chanakyapuri Police have registered a case against Manjunath, while the Karnataka government has suspended him.
