Children unleash technicolour dreams

Over 200 children from schools across the City participated in the two-day Deccan Herald in Education (DHiE) painting competition at the Jawahar Bal Bhavan here on August 22 and 23.

Sunny weather, bird song and plenty of enthusiasm marked the event where the senior (Grade VIII-X) students drew and painted around themes such as ‘Save water’, ‘Olympics’ and ‘City transport system’ while the juniors (Grade V-VII) painted on subjects like ‘Olympics’, ‘Farmers’, and ‘Independence Day’.

The winners of the event are:
Zone A (Juniors): Katya Pandey, VET School, VV Puram (first); Jahnavi A P, Silicon City Academy, Konanakunte (second); Kajal Kushwaha, Army Public School, K Kamaraj Road (third).
Zone A (Seniors): Deepali B K, Carmel School, Padmanabhanagar (first); V Nithyodaya, Green Valley English School, Konanakunte (second); Anirudha K, Swargarani School, Rajarajeshwari Nagar (third).
Zone B (Juniors): Isabella Paul, St Vincent Palloti, Kalyan Nagar (first); Sneha U, Kendriya Vidyalaya, NAL (second); Vaishnavi S Ram, Sree Ayappa Education Centre (CBSE), Jalahalli (third).

Zone B (Seniors): P J Mruthula Jayan, New Baldwin Residential School, Doddabanaswadi (first); Abhishek Kumar,    Rashtriya Military School, Hosur Road (second); Sathyananda P, St Ann’s High School, Rajajinagar (third).
