A doctor has been arrested for kidnapping his eight-year-old daughter from Dwarka area of south west Delhi after divorce.

Vaibhav Gupta, the accused, had married Bushra in 2001 after completing their studies in Lucknow Dental College. After marriage they started living in Vaibhav's house at Budaun in Uttar Pradesh.

But after few years, difference cropped up between the couple and they decided to separate. Their divorce was settled in 2012 and Bushra got the custody of their daughter Sunaina. She came to Delhi and started living with her brother in Dwarka Sector 12.

On Wednesday, Bushra approached Dwarka North police station reporting that her daughter was kidnapped by Vaibhav late on Tuesday.

During investigation, it was found that Vaibhav took Sunaina to his native place in Budaun.

“A team was sent to Budaun where Vaibhav was apprehended. Sunaina has been handed over to her mother,” said a senior police officer.
A case of kidnapping under section 363 of Indian Penal Code has been lodged against Vaibhav.

Youth kidnapped

Three persons have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 21-year-old man from Nehru Place.

The victim’s parents, residents of Ghaziabad, had filed a complaint on August 11 that their son, Yogesh, went to meet his friend Vishnu in Nehru Place, but had not returned.

On enquiry, Vishnu told police that Yogesh had not met him.
On August 12, Pinki received a call from a man named Krishan from her son’s mobile phone demanding a ransom of Rs 3 lakh for his release.

“The kidnap plan was busted when Pinki recognised the voice on the phone of some persons she used to know namely Pawan and Krishan in Haryana’s Ballabhgarh district,” said Ajay Chaudhry, additional commissioner of police (south east).
Investigators contacted Haryana Police and a raid was conducted in Ballabhgarh. It subsequently led to the arrest of Pawan, Krishan and Ravi and the safe release of Yogesh.
