<p>The Kannada Development Authority (KDA) will start a programme titled ‘Kannada Nuditeru Jagruthi Jatha’, in a bid to revive Kannada which had begun to “suffer the onslaught of the English language” in rural areas.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Addressing the media here on Friday, KDA chairperson Mukhyamantri Chandru said that he would visit 100 taluks in the State and hold meetings and programmes with litterateurs and people working for the development of Kannada in the next few months.<br /><br />The objective was to understand the problems faced by the people and also to create awareness on the reasons for the language waning away slowly. The day-long programme would also include cultural programmes, he said. <br /><br />The programme will be inaugurated in Hoskote where the jatha will be held from August 27 to 29. The jatha will then move to Ramanagara where it will be stationed between September 4 and 7, and in Chikkaballapur between September 10 and 13.<br /></p>
