Farmer kills self

A 37-year-old farmer hanged himself to death at Ippadi village of the taluk on Tuesday.

Ravi had taken a loan of Rs 75,000 from the VSSN Co-operative Society in the village and had sown ragi, horse gram and other seeds in his field. With rain playing truant, the crops failed. He had also sunk a borwell with credit taken from moneylenders. But proved unable to get water in the borewell. Depressed by these, he hanged himself at his farmhouse.
