Government of scams in power: Gopal

Speaking at a meeting of office-bearers of district Youth Congress workers here on Saturday, he said that the government, with the the sole intention of burying the scams, has introduced a revised Akrama Sakrama programme.

Emphasising on the need to strengthen the party organisation in the district, he said that unity amongst party cadres is indispensable to launch struggle against any issue and every worker should realise this truth. He called upon workers to set-aside their differences and work for a common goal. Gopal said that there is a need to reorganise Youth Congress unit in the district. New office-bearers will have to be appointed by October failing which the State unit will initiate action against the district-level office-bearers, he warned. District Congress has organised a friendly meet at Apna Ghar in Chikkaballapur on September 29. Central, State and district-level leaders will attend the programme. District Youth Congress president Mohammed Akram, vice-president S R Narayanaswamy and others were present.

Traffic blocked
Workers of District Youth Congress blocked traffic at Mekke Circle in the City condemning arrest of Congress leaders who tried to lay siege to Vidhana Soudha. The general secretary of Youth Congress, Gopal, accused the BJP government of infringing upon the right to protest, guaranteed under the Constitution in a democratic set up. The ministers involved in scams should tender their resignations, he demanded.
