A jilted lover of a class 11 girl stabbed an elderly man to death and injured two other women, including the girl’s mother, at Neb Sarai in south Delhi on Friday night.

Accused Abhishek is absconding. Sources said he was an obsessed lover who had been stalking the 15-year-old girl.

An initial probe revealed that Abhishek had gone to confront the girl at her home after seeing her returning from her tuition class with another boy.

“At the house, he was involved in a heated argument with the girl. When her mother Kamla Devi intervened and told him to leave the house, the accused took out a knife and stabbed her,” a police official said.

Hearing this commotion, their neighbours — Jagat Singh, 65, and his wife Prakash Devi, 60 — came to the house. But it only worsened the situation. Abhishek then stabbed Jagat and Prakash, and managed to flee.

During the melee, a call was made at the police control room after which the injured were rushed to Max Hospital in Saket.

“Jagat was declared brought dead by the doctors, while Prakash is battling for her life at the hospital’s ICU. Kamla was later referred to the AIIMS trauma center. Prakash’s and Kamla’s condition is critical,” the official added.

The girl’s family alleged that Abhishek had been stalking the girl due to which they had earlier lodged a police complaint.

They also claimed that the girl refused to establish any relation with him which angered him. Jagat body was handed over to his family after a post-mortem at AIIMS on Saturday.
A case of murder and attempt to murder has been lodged against Abhishek with Neb Sarai police station.
