'I've to go out!'

Have you ever felt that you have not spoken to your mom and dad properly for a week or more? If yes, there are many young people in this City like you. The schedule of a student is so hectic that he or she hardly gets any time to spend with the family.

With college hours, coaching classes, additional courses, gym and many others things to attend, students are hardly at home. Result, the bonding between the parent and the child goes for a toss.

A house has become more like a place where one steps in for food or to catch some sleep. Hemanth, a student, says, “I am very busy because of my studies, sports and other activities in college. I reach home quite late usually and have to leave home early because of college. I take part in college fests and I am into organising events in my college. Therefore, I am always on the move and hardly find time to gel with my parents.”

While the college schedule keeps some students away, there are also students, who desperately want to keep themselves busy and stay away from home. In order to stay away from home, they enroll themselves for various classes and keep themselves busy purposely. Radhika says, “It is so boring to stay at home. I find no purpose in spending all the time at home. That is why I have joined French and Yoga classes. After college hours, I go for my internship, then attend French and Yoga classes. I feel good at the end of a day,” he adds.

The missing link between the parents and their kids can lead to various problems later on. Nagabhishek sums up, “Most of the time, I’m hardly at home but I’m not able to do anything about it. I have to attend tuitions, apart from my college studies, to fare well in the exams. Sometimes it does get on my nerves,” he adds.
