Teachers Day
Last Updated 12 September 2012, 12:11 IST

On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the department of information science and engineering of Dayananda Sagar Institutions, planned an entire day of fun for not only the teachers but also the students.

From singing, dancing to playing games, the students ensured that their teachers felt special in every way possible.

One of the popular games played by them included a quiz called Kya Aap
Engineering Se Tez Hai?.

The quiz posed a lot of questions to the teachers about the City, the college and also some general knowledge questions. Another game that broke the ice between the teachers and students was the posing game – wherein a name would be called out and the participant had to pose accordingly. Many of the students were surprised to see the teachers’ talents on stage.

Najam, a student, said, “It was a lot of fun to see our faculty dance, sing, laugh and play with us. One rarely gets to see them like this and the day only brought the department a lot more closer.”

After a short skit and a dance, the students tickled the teachers’ funny bone by enacting commercial advertisements on stage. Soon after, a series of special awards were given out to the teachers, like ‘best smile’, ‘best dressed lecturer’, ‘teacher with the best sense of humour’, ‘Mr and Mrs Reliable’ and also the most significant award of the  evening – the ‘Teacher of the Day’ award. All the awards were given away by the students as a token of their gratitude. This was then followed by a cake-cutting ceremony.

The day ended on a high note with all the teachers walking the ramp. Padmashree, a teacher, said, “It was really sweet that our students put in a lot of effort to make this day a memorable one for all of us in the department.”
