They had come to their brother’s house in the town. They had gone to see Markandeya tank, accompanied by their sister-in-law Reshma. They were near the tank for fishing when Rabbani lost balance and drowned in the tank. Mukkharam, who tried to rescue her also drowned, as he did not know swimming.
Reshma, a witness to the incident has sufferred a shock and admitted to the hospital.
Protest warned
The president of Primary School Teachers Association has condemned the mental and physical harassment being committed on teachers serving in the government schools of the taluk.
In a statement, he has stated that a few villages assaulted the headmaster of Attigiri school in the taluk recently while teachers in Bheemaganahalli and Allikallu have also been harassed. He has warned that the Association will be compelled to launch a stir if the incidents repeat.
