Wanna take an aerial look of the city’s landmarks like Chamundi Hill, Amba Vilas Palace and Lalithamahal Palace from the sky? Wait for Dasara to unfold with the Mysore Dasara Committee bringing in a sortie in small aeroplanes.

Announcing this to media here on Saturday, medical education and district in-charge minister S A Ramdas said that the 15 minutes joy ride will be offered in two packages from Mysore Airport in Mandakalli.

For a single seater with pilot, it will be Rs 2,000 and for four seater with pilot, it will be Rs 2,500 for three each of the passengers.

Other special features include display of talents from the Army.

It includes, helicopter show, cultural programmes, tribal dance and also Army band. The festival will also provide a platform for cultural exchange with troupes from five states of south India performing during the period.

For the first time in the history of Dasara, a seven-day international magic show is also planned for the entertainment of children and youths. The schedule stretched over one week and will feature 28 shows, with four per day.

Indian Army chief General Bikram Singh and Lt Gen Ramesh Galagali are the special invitees. However, their dates of participation is yet to be confirmed, the minister added.
On the inaugural day of Dasara, a meet to recall the contributions of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar has been organised, besides ‘India’s contribution to the field of science, especially metallurgy, aerospace and physics’ the following days.

NRIs, who have carved a niche in other nations in the field of science, will also be invited along with ambassadors of 70 nations, the minister said.
