Three police officials were suspended while two others shunted on a charge of laxity in connection with Friday's violence in Ghaziabad in which six people were killed.

The suspended officials included two cops of the intelligence wing of the police, sources said and added that they have been suspended for their failure to anticipate the trouble. The in-charge of the Masuri police station has also been suspended.

Two others, including a sub-divisional magistrate, have been shunted out of the district for their failure to control the violence. A high level probe has been ordered into the incident.
Meanwhile curfew continued in the Dasna area in the district.  Six people were killed and at least a dozen others, including some police officials, injured, some seriously, in violence on Friday night over alleged desecration of a holy book.

A violent mob had blocked the national highway 24 that connects Delhi with Lucknow. Police said that shots were fired from the mob also.
