The hunt for the best

The small ramp in Garuda Mall played witnessed to up-and-coming and aspiring models as Vipul Fashions conducted a fashion hunt on Sunday evening. Ten girls were shortlisted for the event and showcased a range of ethnic wear starting from 5 pm.

Although there were a few who stumbled along the way, they picked themselves along the way and walked with grace. The winner was HM Rashmi, followed by Kshipra and Medha. The winner received Rs 25,000 and the first runner up got Rs. 5,000.

They all sported colourful, multi-coloured saris and shiny jewellery. There was a personality round which was judged by a panel of four judges, amongst who Medhansh, well-known choreographer, was present.

Established in 1974, Vipul Fashions is the first to start such an initiative. The model hunt look to empower women and give them a chance  to show their skill  and accelerate their modelling career. Initially around 300 entries were received but it was shortlisted to the existing 10 and then the winners were chosen. The girls had to go through rigorous trials to reach the finals.

Women who were interested in participating were asked to upload their pictures on Facebook and 10 models from each city were shortlisted. Then voting via an app was conducted, where more than 10, 000 votes were registered. After three rounds of ramp walking and two rounds of Q&A, the winner was decided.
