Protests disrupt bus services

Several passengers were inconvenienced as bus services towards Mandya and Mysore were partially affected due to the protests against release of Cauvery water in the two cities.

KSRTC officials said they were informed of the protests on the highway and in the two districts, and it was decided not to ply buses on the normal route. The drivers were asked to take a detour throughMalavalli instead of passing through Mandya.

However, services were not disrupted on the Tamil Nadu route. “All our buses (over 400) went to Tamil Nadu as per schedule today. But, none of the buses coming from Tamil Nadu arrived,” another official said.
