NCR-based Indo-US IT company Zabtech has been ranked 21st in the list of 500 fastest growing private companies in the United States by Inc. magazine.

Zantech IT, owned by Zia Islam who is an alumni of the Aligarh Muslim University, has been ranked 21st in 2012 INC 500 released in the latest September issue of Inc.

The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America's independent entrepreneurs.

Companies such as Microsoft, Zappos, Intuit, Jamba Juice, Zipcar, Clif Bar, Vizio, Oracle, and many other well-known names gained early exposure as members of the Inc 500/5000.

To be listed in the Inc. 500, companies had to have achieved a staggering minimum of 770 per cent in sales growth over the years.

The Inc. 500's aggregate revenue is USD 15.7 billion, with a median three-year growth of 1,431 per cent. The companies on this year's Inc. 500 employ more than 48,000 people and generated over 40,000 jobs in the past three years.

"We are honoured to be recognised by Inc. magazine alongside of many other highly respected businesses. This prestigious recognition would not have been possible without the hard work and determination of our employees upholding our company motto of
'Outstanding Performance...Always'," Zia Islam said.

Prior to establishing Zantech in 2007, Islam spent 14 years at General Motors Corporation as a Senior Project Manager.

He focused on continuous process improvement, earning the ASI Six Sigma 'Black Belt Award' for Design and receiving the GM Chairman's Honors award.

Islam received an MS degree in Systems Engineering from Ohio University. In addition, he holds B S and M S degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Aligarh University, having received an Aligarh University 'Gold Medal' upon completing his masters degree.
