JOIN USTwo 8-year-olds raped in 24 hours
Two eight-year-old girls were allegedly raped by youths in two incidents in the Capital in the last 24 hours.
In Fatehpur Beri of south Delhi, a girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour on Friday afternoon. Following a complaint, accused Naveen, 21, was arrested at his home.
“The victim resides in Aaya Nagar and on Friday afternoon, she along with her brother went to buy mobile recharge coupons. On the way, they met their neighbour, who asked for help to search his rabbit,” said a police official.
Naveen then took both the siblings to a nearby isolated jungle, where he allegedly raped the girl. When her brother intervened, he threatened him of dire consequences and beat him up.
“Later, he fled from the spot and left the victim and her brother at the spot. They returned home and informed parents about the incident who then approached local police,” the official added.
The accused was apprehended after the girl’s medical examination at AIIMS confirmed sexual assault. A case has been lodged.
Assaulted at park
In Mangolpuri of outer Delhi, police have arrested a man, Aabid, who is also the victim’s neighbour.
“Aabid was nabbed by locals and handed over to police after the victim raised an alarm on Friday evening,” another police official said.
The victim resides with her parents. She was playing near her home when Aabid allegedly abducted her and took her to a park.
He then sexually assaulted her and was caught by locals after they heard the girl screaming. He was handed over to police after being beaten up by locals.
The victim is undergoing treatment at a local hospital. Aabid was held over the victim’s statement and her medical reports which confirmed rape.
Year-long assault on NE girl by doc
A 16-year-old girl from the Northeast, who used to work as a maid at a doctor’s place, had been allegedly raped for last one year by him in Punjabi Bagh of west Delhi, reports DHNS. She was trafficked from Assam and had been sold to a placement agency here. An NGO along with Delhi Police rescued the victim. The doctor has a pathological lab in Pitampura. He is absconding and a hunt is on to nab him. The girl told police that she worked there for last three years. Whenever she wanted to go home, the doctor did not allow her. Even when her father passed away, she was not allowed to leave. She claimed that in the last one year, her employer sexually exploited her four times. She was also given some pills which caused heavy bleeding. He used to exploit her in his family’s absence.
