<p>The Codava National Council (CNC) has demanded that Kodavas should be permitted to have a gun without any licence.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The CNC has already taken steps to approach the government to seek an exemption under Sections 3 and 4 of the Indian Arms Act, regarding owning a gun.<br /><br />In a letter to the Kodagu deputy commissioner, the community has urged the government to provide exemption certificates under the said Act to all Kodavas without ‘any delay or objection’.<br /><br />The CNC will also organise human chains across Kodagu from October 8 till November 6 on scheduled days.</p>
