Dr Hampa to preside over 'Nudisiri 09'

The theme of the national literary conference will be “Kannada manassu: samanvayadedege”.

Dr Hampana hails from Kolar. Having a teaching experience of 38 years, he has published more than 60 works in Kannada and 11 in English, which cover the fields of linguistics, fiction, biography, research, folklore, translation, children’s literature and history of literature.

He has held positions such as the President of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Director of Jain Research Centre andDirector of Kannada Adhyayana Kendra.
Hampana is the recipient of various awards including Karnataka Sahitya Academy award, Janapada Academy award, Bhasha Bhushana Suvarna Padaka, Chavundaraya award, Kavyananda award, Rajyotsava award, Shasana Shastra award, Kunda Kunda Jnanapeetha award, Shamba Joshi award etc.

Veteran scholar Dr K V Narayana will inaugurate the conference. Jagadguru Thontada Siddalinga Mahaswamy of Thontadarya Mutt in Gadag will deliver the valedictory address. Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade will present Nudisiri awards.
