The treeoflife.in and Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust are presenting ‘Bollywood Bandwagon’ at Ranga Shankara on October 13, 7.30 pm and on October 14, 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm. The puppeteers are Choiti Ghosh, Anurupa Roy, Pawan Waghmare, Avinash Kumar, Mohammad Shameem and Anand Kumar. The concept and direction are by Anurupa Roy. 

‘Bollywood Bandwagon’ stands on the edge of a film set watching the goings-on without any coloured glasses. But being a true-blue voyeur, gradually the play makes its way into the more intimate spaces of the industry — some secret, some forgotten, some taken for granted.

And the further inside it goes, the farther away it gets from the shiny veneer until the magical becomes mundane and the people inside look the same as the ones outside.

However, the real magic of Bollywood is that it is everywhere and it is indomitable. The Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust is a contemporary puppet theatre company, engaged in creating new art work, performances as well as design aesthetics, using the puppet and collabo­rating with other art forms and artists.
